Warner Bros announced that Warwick Davis will reprise the role of Charms professor Filius Flitwick in the HBO “Harry Potter” TV series. The announcement was made on Monday (1).
“The HBO Original Harry Potter announced today the return of Warwick Davis as Professor Filius Flitwick, marking his comeback to the wizarding world in a role he originated in the film series,” the press release said.
In the Harry Potter universe, September 1 marks the return to classes at the school of witchcraft and wizardry. The date also marks “Back to Hogwarts,” where fans worldwide celebrate going back to school.
Davis, 55, starred in all eight “Harry Potter” films, which were released from 2001 to 2011. He also played the character Griphook, a goblin who works at Gringotts Bank.
He is the first original cast star confirmed to star in the series.

Although his character appeared for only five minutes throughout the entire saga, Warwick Davis celebrated his participation in the series.
“Thank you to all the fans who kept the magic alive. I can’t wait to see you back in the classroom.”
Filming for the series began in July with a premiere scheduled for 2027 on HBO.
